Northeast Ohio Weather 2023-24 Winter Forecast

The Farmer's Almanac predicts a cold and snowy winter for Ohio this year. We expect to see a busier winter in Northeast Ohio as an El Nino may develop late in 2023 and last for the remainder of the winter. We're not expecting a mild or strong La Nina and this means winter could possibly be similar to a couple winters ago, with blasts of very cold Arctic air and bring periods of snow, sleet and ice. Snowfall totals in Cleveland look to be above normal as well, and we'll need to be cautious of early season lake effect snowfall primarily in December. Since the lake is still rather warm, it's possible the first couple of lake effect snow events could make a significant impact in Northeast Ohio. The extended weather forecast calls for lower than average temperatures for much of the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley in January and February. Of course, you can could on us to keep you updated before lake effect snow hits.
